You will NOT need a car. If needed, wheelchairs will be readily available and free to use between the Kahler and the Civic Center, and enclosed walkways between the Kahler and the Civic Center make the 10-minute walk easy to navigate.

We are pleased to offer a discounted group rate for conference attendees staying at the Kahler Grand Hotel, which is located at 20 2nd Ave. SW, Rochester MN 55902. The Kahler has set up a personalized group page for conference attendees to reserve their hotel rooms. Once the designated block of rooms are all reserved, the discount rate will no longer apply. It is strongly advised that you make reservations as soon as possible to take advantage of the group rate.

General Conference Info

Attendee Age Requirement

The nature of all conference activities is exclusively directed towards PSC patients and caregivers 13 years of age and older. No one under the age of 13 may attend any part of the conference, including meals. Meals are restricted for registered attendees only. We ask that all attendees wear their name tag to all events (including the Thursday evening dinner). Your name tag will also serve as your ticket for all conference sessions, meals and snacks.

Conference FAQs

If this will be your first PSC Partners conference, be sure to visit the Annual Conference FAQ page and the Attendee Testimonials to learn more about this annual event. Additionally, plan to attend the Newcomer Orientation presentation on Fri., June 21, from 9-9:30 a.m. If you need further information or have any questions, please email us,, or call our office, (303) 771-5227. We are available 9 a.m.-5 p.m. MDT.

We have prepared a helpful Glossary of Terms related to PSC. We suggest you print out this page, and keep it with you during the conference.

Peer Groups

Whether this is your first conference or you are a veteran attendee, you will be assigned to a peer group that meets at various times throughout the weekend. These groups convene to offer invaluable support, share knowledge and discuss personal experiences. No matter where you are in your PSC journey, there is a supportive peer group for you. The list of specific peer groups is as follows:

  • Teen PSCers
  • Female PSCers in their 20s/30s
  • Male PSCers in their 20s/30s
  • Female PSCers
  • Male PSCers
  • Post-Transplant PSCers
  • Parents of Pediatric PSCers (17 and under)
  • Parents of Young Adult PSCers (18-25 years old)
  • Parents of Adult PSCers (26 and up)
  • Spouses/Partners/Caregivers of PSCers
  • Siblings and Other Caregivers of PSCers
  • Caregivers Coping with Loss & Carrying on the Spirit
Mentor/Mentee Program

If you are a first-time attendee (either a PSCer or a caregiver), we suggest that you request a mentor when you fill out your registration form. We will match you with someone from your peer group. Prior to the conference, we encourage you to communicate with your mentor to get all of your questions answered. During Friday’s lunch, you will meet your Mentor in person, if you haven’t connected previously.

If you have attended a past PSC Partners conference, please consider volunteering to be a mentor this year for our new attendees. We try very hard to match mentees with a similar mentor, so the mix of patient and caregiver mentors needed each year depends on the mix of new attendees.

Teen/College-Aged Program

We have organized some fun activities specifically for the teens and college-aged conference attendees. Once teens and college-aged attendees register for the conference, more details will be sent to this peer group and their parents.

Help us get the word out about the conference by making copies of this flyer and asking your medical providers to display it in their offices. For best results, please download the flyer to your computer first, and then print.

Mayo Clinic Blood Specimen Collection

A PSC research effort is currently underway at Mayo Clinic, and PSC patients attending the 2019 PSC Partners Conference are encouraged to participate. Researchers are creating a biobank of specimens and collecting clinical data for use in current and future research to better understand primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). Mayo Clinic researchers will be collecting blood specimens from PSC patients on Friday and Saturday during the conference weekend. The hope is to develop better testing for early detection and a greater understanding of disease complications and progression.

Research Coordinators for Mayo Clinic will be on hand Thursday afternoon during check-in to answer questions. The blood draws will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Mayo Civic Center from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Mayo Clinic representatives will assist with the consent process during this time. All participants must have the consent form signed prior to specimen collection. Please contact Erik Schlicht (, 507-284-4312, or Jacki Bianchi (, 507-266-0346, to get a copy of the consent form in advance of the conference, if you have any questions about the study, or if you would like to meet with someone to discuss the study.

Mayo Clinic is encouraging all PSC patients to provide blood samples regardless of past participation in Mayo studies. PSC patients who may be at Mayo Clinic earlier in the week are welcome to meet with a Research Coordinator and have their blood drawn at that time. Please contact Erik or Jacki for more information about how to schedule this visit.

How to Secure an Appointment at Mayo Clinic

Many people have expressed an interest in scheduling appointments with Mayo Clinic before or after the conference. Please understand that PSC Partners is unable to help facilitate scheduling. However, we are happy to share a few tips with you regarding booking an appointment:

  • Interested PSC patients should contact the Central Appointment Office at 1 (507) 284-2111 for new patient appointments in the Mayo PSC Clinic.
  • The PSC Clinic calendar opened 12 weeks prior to the conference weekend (end of March).

PSC patients will likely first be seen by Andrea Gossard, APRN, C.N.P. Numerous PSCers have met with her. She is extremely knowledgeable about PSC, and she will be presenting at the 2019 Conference.

This year, we will be celebrating the Land of 10,000 Lakes with a camping-themed party. We encourage everyone to show their PSC Partners spirit by coming dressed in fun camping garb, such as cargo shorts, hiking boots, funny socks, a camp hat, your old scouting uniform, etc. You name it…the sky is the limit. Creativity and humor are appreciated and encouraged – the tackier the better! We also have karaoke during the final night soiree, so warm up your vocal chords.
