2013 GRANT – FINAL REPORT FROM DR. HEATHER FRANCIS, TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY

Each year  on the recommendation of the Scientific/Medical Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors, PSC Partners Seeking a Cure chooses the most promising research projects to support. In 2013, Dr. Heather Francis of the Texas A&M Health Science Center received a two-year $60,000 grant to study  if liver mast cells and cholangiocytes (bile duct cells) interact with each other during disease progression and if bile acid treatment can alter their interactions. Read the final report from Dr. Francis and her team, including the articles that have already been published and those still pending publication this year.  You can also read the original Lay Summary of her research proposal on our research grants page.

PSC Partners Seeking a Cure thanks and commends Dr. Francis and her team for advancing the frontiers of PSC research.
